in-person and livestream concerts

Vadim Gluzman, artistic director / Angela Yoffe, executive director

Dear friends, our onstage/offstage series brings the magic of the annual summer festival to downtown Chicago during the 2021-22 season, complemented by online masterclasses that allow talented young musicians to be guided and encouraged by great artists of our day.

Now that guidelines are permitting in-person concerts we are so pleased to welcome you back inside the concert hall. Each event is presented live-in-person in the lovely recital hall at PianoForte Chicago Chicago’s premier downtown piano destination – and will livestream to homes around the world at the same time, your choice!

We are thrilled to welcome our dear friends:

The husband and wife piano duo Alessio Bax and Lucille Chung in a thrilling program “La Valse”. Fall in love with grace, beauty and excitement of all-French program, culminating in Ravel’s most famous work – La Valse! Stunning virtuosity and extraordinary elegance of these two great musicians are unparalleled! Have a glass of Bordeaux and imagine yourself on Champs-Élysées!

Multi Grammy Award nominee, violinist extraordinaire Philippe Quint is back with the new multimedia show BETWEEN ANGELS and DEMONS – a program celebrating the 100 anniversary of the great Astor Piazzolla. A musical, historical, and deeply personal portrait of the great Tango Master – an evening not to be missed! Share the passion with a glass of Argentinian Malbec!

One of the greatest violinists of our day, winner of Grand Slam of violin competitions – Sibelius, Paganini and Tchaikovsky – Ilya Kaler is also an extraordinary pedagogue, Professor of Violin at the Cleveland Institute of Music. We are privileged to have this incredible artist lead our Master’s Workshop – masterclass where he will share his experience and knowledge with the younger generation of musicians.

Sit back and relax with some of today’s most acclaimed classical artists as they perform beautiful music and discuss their fascinating, complex lives both on stage and off. Candid and captivating, each installment of the series unfurls like a conversation between old friends and reveals insight into the life of classical artists living in modern times.
