AFSF 2022 Opportunity Award recipient / student of the Music and Art University of the City of Vienna

Dmytro Kyryliv is a young clarinetist and composer from Ukraine. He was born on 12.05.2002 in Ternopil, Ukraine. Dmytro was taking his first music lessons in „School of Arts“ in his hometown, when he was five years old. After three years practicing on Sopilka (Ukrainian Recorder), he started to study clarinet with Evgeny Gayda, who is also professor in Ternopil College of Music. At the age of eleven Dmytro started to compose music. In 2017 he graduated from the Ukrainian Gymnasium by Ivan Franko and School of Arts in Ternopil, and in the same year he passed an entrance examination in Ternopil College of Music, where he continued his education with Evgeny Gayda and started to learn Orchestration with Mykhailo Viyatyk. In 2020 Dmytro took regular Online Composition Lessons with David Mastikosa. Also In 2020 Dmytro passed an entrance examination in Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) and began his clarinet studies with professor Reinhard Wieser. In August, the same year, the young clarinetist and composer recorded his debut album „Madness” with his own music. In 2021 Dmytro also passed an entrance examination for Composition Studies in Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna and continued his education with Dirk D‘Ase. Dmytro won several international clarinet and composition competitions in Italy, USA and Ukraine. His pieces were already performed in Ukraine, Austria, Poland and Denmark.
