Sun Chang is a musician based in Chicago. She trained with Carole Cerasi at the Royal Academy of Music in London on both harpsichord and fortepiano with additional coaching from Robert Levin, Margaret Faultless, James Johnstone, and Pawel Siwczak. Sun plays standard repertoire on piano, and is an amateur gambist and jazz pianist.

Sun’s musical career is eclectic. She is lucky to have worked with many ensembles and musicians including: the Utah Symphony, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Chicago, Friction Quartet, Trevor Pinnock, Ars Musica Chicago, WFMT Bach Organ Project, and American Bach Soloists.

She is the keyboardist of Ensemble Affect (ensembleaffect.org), an early music group based in San Francisco, and Ensemble Vitelotte (ensemblevitelotte.com), a piano-violin duo focused on historical women composers.

Currently, in addition to teaching at North Park University, Sun is also working on a solo album of keyboard suites by Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre recorded on piano, a project made possible with support by the Luminarts Foundation.

Exciting new projects this season: Ensemble Affect at San Francisco Early Music Society,  a premiere with Friction Quartet, and of course, joining NSCMF for the first time!
