I-Hao began his musical journey at the age of 5 under the guidance of his mother in Taiwan, initially exploring piano, cello, and violin. As he matured, his passion for the violin deepened, leading him to focus on the instrument. At 12, he was accepted into the studio of renowned violinist Mikhail Kopelman at the Eastman School of Music, a pivotal moment in his early career. His exceptional talent and dedication brought him to the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, where he studied with distinguished professors Victor Danchenko and Barry Shiffman on full scholarship.
In 2016, I-Hao was accepted into the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where his technical prowess, musicality, and interpretive skills were further honed under the mentorship of eminent musicians such as Aaron Rosand, Gary Graffman, Ida Kavafian, Arnold Steinhardt, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Meng-Chieh Liu, Steven Tenenbom, and Pamela Frank. Currently, he continues his studies with the world-renowned violinist Midori Goto as a recipient of the Joseph and Marie Field Fellowship.
I-Hao has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the 30th and 35th Chimei Artist Awards, which further underscore his exceptional artistic accomplishments. In addition to his musical pursuits, I-Hao is a passionate sports enthusiast and a dedicated chess player. I-Hao is Currently playing on a 1767 G.B. Guadanini and a 1725 Carlo Tonini on loan from Canimex.
